Survival game Nightingale just delivered a feature players have been asking for since the game debuted in early access in February: offline mode. As of today, solo survival fans will no longer be at the whims of servers in order to jump into the fae realms of the gaslamp fantasy base-builder.
Offline mode isn’t the only new feature in Nightingale version 0.3.0. Players will also now be able to build from storage, another highly requested feature that means resources can be used for construction even if they’re not in your inventory. It’s proximity-based and togglable, too, meaning you can earmark containers not to be used in construction if you’re saving resources for a different purpose or don’t want to accidentally use a friend’s stash while building.

Summer Game Fest 2024 will be a “cross-platform live showcase of game announcements, trailers and more.” Details on who will be there and what they’ll be showing off haven’t been revealed—have to have some surprises, after all—but the show will run for two hours and, as event founder and host Geoff Keighley put it, serve up a “showcase of what’s next for videogames.”

Read moreThe Assassin’s Creed game we’ve known for the last year-and-a-half as Codename Red finally has a proper title, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and it’s going to be fully revealed in just a couple days, on May 15.
Codename Red was revealed in September 2022 alongside two other unnamed Assassin’s Creed games: Hexe, which has a very overt supernatural vibe but is otherwise entirely undefined, and Jade, a mobile game set in China in 215 BC.
Red, meanwhile, is set in feudal Japan, a shift in locale that had associate editor Ted Litchfield immediately excited, to the point that he was basically establishing a full headcanon based entirely on a 10-second teaser.
